Given up on the concept of being "well-rounded". I'm more like a hexagon, and depending on what side I happen to accidently roll I get work, family, exercise, hobbies or a tidy house. None can co-exist.

Every time something like the GOP chat leak occurs I hear smart people arguing that shame could be a useful tactic. But shame only works if the bad actors think their actions are bad. Hypocrisy, shame, these Victorian-ish norms are just that, norms, guardrails, and they don't work against fascism.

Why is Clark County collaborating with ICE to transport people across state lines and incarcerate them for exercising their 1A right of playing the clarinet? This is clearly unconstitutional and unlawful behavior by federal law enforcement and the Clark County Sheriff is assisting.

Emerging from the darkness of this era will require us to acknowledge that the previous status quo, including many institutions that may have served us well in another era, have been failing for my entire lifetime.
