From a young age, Diane Keaton, who died Saturday at 79, seemed to understand that actual beauty, the timeless kind, required a degree of depth, even darkness, @adriennelaf.bsky.social writes.

Currently house hunting abroad, and while there are many differences, the biggest one I see is that unlike Americans, Europeans don’t seem to need to hang words on the wall to remind themselves to be happy, or what each room is for. #livelovelaugh #gather #expat

Republicans love our troops so hard they have to spend D Day begging Trump not to steal their VA benefits.
Someday I’ll figure out how to do a thread properly on bluesky. Not today, I am just too angry.
We’re leaving the country soon, as are many others. It’s not because we’re selfish, it’s because we aren’t. There has to be a better way. This system is rigged, and I fear what will happen when more people tune in and figure it out. 6/
We are very fortunate that my daughter is okay and none of this will break us financially. But I keep voting for the people who want to raise my taxes so that everyone has health care, fair wages, education opportunities, and a social safety net, and I keep getting voted down. 4/
Why am I doing this on behalf of my adult child? Well, her job won’t give her enough hours to qualify for health insurance or pay her enough to pay these bills. She’s neither lazy nor stupid. She’ll lose access to my husband’s insurance on her next birthday. 3/

The police, paid for with my tax dollars, have done nothing to identify the other driver, in spite of having his car, eyewitnesses, and video footage, and you know, fleeing the scene of an accident without bothering to see if the other driver was even alive. You know, a crime. 2/

We have both health and car insurance. My daughter was involved in a hit and run. I have just paid $800 in medical bills for her and have to file extra paperwork to get another $5k covered. Or maybe I will owe it, don’t know. 1/

I didn’t forget, but 30% of voters did, and here we are.

With all the anger and division in this country right now, we want to take time this Memorial Day weekend to remember those who fought and died for this country. Their sacrifice is worth honoring. We hold their friends and families in our hearts.

A military force with starving families, what could go wrong?
Did you know that tens of thousands of active duty service members and their families rely on SNAP?
“.. would also mark the first time in the history of SNAP that the federal government would no longer ensure children in every state have access to food benefits ..”

So help me god this administration has made me need warning labels to help distinguish between the satire and the surreal.
Can she even read? If so, at what grade level? Does she need pictures to help?
Sec. Noem oversees hundreds of thousands of employees across 10 agencies—many with the power to arrest citizens. She should understand what 'habeas corpus' means. The fact that she doesn’t is deeply concerning and raises serious questions: Does she know her job? Has she even read the Constitution?
