Did some more EGA pixelart today for my DOS fan game (instead of working on the actual game). I fear it’ll become a slide show—but then again my code is so over-engineered, it already is on slower machines 🙈

I streamlined and unified my DOS engine, keep passing pointer rather than heap allocations, buffering text output to sprites and in general made everything easier to work with.
The result: It runs now much slower than before 🫠

It feels like it started going downhill with Adobe when they went subscription based and fully digitsl."The next update will fix it (maybe)". I wish forba full re-write of their entire software from the ground up but that's never going to happen 😅

Working on a Knight Rider fan game for DOSember (yes, it does run in DOS!) but been getting sidetracked by having to build an engine first. Spent time doing EGA pixel art and OPL music instead, so all I got to show for thus far is a screensaver for DOS 😅
