Walking through my neighborhood today, and this six-year-old Khmer boy looks up from playing with his toy and casually says, “what’s up, bitch?” with a smile and a head nod.

Not even mad. Just impressed.

This is nightmarish. Every arts pro knows that nearly EVERY event results in some kind of complaint. Heck, I think it’s some people’s favorite part of concert attendance.

Requiring orgs to forward them to the federal government for investigation is both terrifying and a waste of taxpayer dollars.

Minnesota nice has nothing on the passive-aggressive cheer of Khmer enthusiasm.

bring back forums

when the internet was a proper country, if you wanted to talk to strangers online you had to find the set of strangers that read the same stupid webcomic you do and then create an account on their forum

people do not belong all in the same pile like unsorted laundry

You can measure an economy's actual, real life, concrete health by: are people able to do their own weird shit?

Do they have money to survive doing their weird shit? Do they have the free time to do that weird shit?

Fuck the metrics, just look for the dirtbags and artists and musicians and writers

“The Greek philosopher spent his last evening listening to music played on a flute by a Thracian slave girl. Despite battling a fever and being on the brink of death, Plato retained enough lucidity to critique the musician for her lack of rhythm.” #goals

I was just passed on the 15 in Salt Lake City… by BART.

A broad-gauge rail transit car was not what I expected to see when I checked my mirrors to change lanes.

All these places have started blaring classical music in the parking lot to prevent loitering, but I just spent five minutes watching a gentleman at 7-Eleven absolutely bliss out to Caballé singing Casta diva, so joke’s on them, I guess.
