hope Ukraine doesn't fall for that - it's not even certain the US woudl actually help the Baltics if they get attacked and they are in NATO
❗️The Trump administration is ready to provide Ukraine with security guarantees based on NATO's Article 5 if it withdraws from Donbas, – Axios.

i was under the impression that russia and germany jointly invaded Poland with the intention of dividing Europe between them. Hardly on 'our' side (well not until Stalin and Hitler fell out)
Russia was on our side the last time a dictator tried to take over Europe, hasn’t Putin learnt anything from that? Russia suffered terribly and I am sure the last thing the Russian people want is a repeat of that experience.

re-educating the germans after WWII to make them less aggressive certainly worked; it may however have been a little overdone if they are not even willing to fight for their own freedom.

Hungary sided with Hitler then and with Putin now all in the vain hope of gaining 'lost territories'
🇵🇱‼️🇭🇺 The President of Poland refused to meet with Orban after his visit to Putin

On Wednesday, Nawrocki should start a visit to Hungary to participate in the summit of the Visegrad Group, and a meeting with Orban in Budapest was scheduled for Thursday. However, he revised his plans.

you forgot to add that fossil fuel lobbyists will outnumber gov representatives 3 to 1 ...
My predictions for COP30

1. Several days of promising that 1.5C is not dead

2. Huge panic when discovered there is nothing new to announce

3. Final communique - 2 days late - full of nebulous promises, and maybe a vague pledge to eventually transition away from fossil fuels

really? no way! just kidding, this is rampant and ALL universities with strong China links self-censor and force lecturers to avoid selected subjects. The weaker universities are especially blatant in this regard forcing lecturers to agree to China dictated rules.

We probably shouldn’t forget about this

maybe, but could be the end too as Trump won't leave next time his mandate is up. It all depends on whether the military upholds the constitution when the time comes or obeys illegal orders.
