If you like this demo, you will love the great demos by @pezlarson.bsky.social that can be found here:

(Complete with python code to generate them!)
Yes definitely will be some improvement! particularly for diffusion MRI the image should be better quality, and also some more precise measurements of cancerous tissue
This is a great analysis, especially I like the assessment of different variables on performance in detecting aggressive prostate cancer from MRI

important for ML Researchers to see work like this where real world AUCs ~0.7, showing often fundamental challenges in biomedical problems

Nice to see my @ucsfimaging.bsky.social colleague highlighted! Prof. Vu has been innovating higher resolution brain #MRI and getting this technology into the hands of VA doctors
This VA Research Week, May 13th-16th, NCIRE celebrates its contribution to 100 Years of VA Research.

NCIRE is proud to support the research of Dr. An Vu at the San Francisco VA Health Care System!

Well the NIH has cancelled the Women's Health Initiative, the largest study of women in history

It has been running continuously since 1991 and has provided massive key knowledge about diseases in women

Unreal

Happy to walk anyone through this. Our grants are proposed work. We often budget for things like salaries, student tuition, and equipment and consumables (in my field). We work on tight margins - we're often asked to "trim" or modify budgets because program officers try to spread the money.
Ok so yeah, this has quickly become the #1 misunderstanding about the canceled grants

the grants are not “subsidies” or “entitlements” to Harvard or Princeton or whatever

they aren’t going into universities’ endowments

they are competitive contracts won by these universities to do research
There is a PR narrative quickly emerging about “entitlement” of elite universities, as if this $ is some sort of subsidy

Harvard & others must counter this quickly

The $ doesn’t flow into Harvard’s coffers - this is grant money, most of which goes to research the govt has agreed has social value

RT @songihanlab The official flier for the new GRC on Magnetic Resonance and Quantum Information Science, June 14-19, 2026, Southern New Hampshire University, MA. Details TBA over time, looking for support from vendors and institutions www.grc.org/magnetic-res... #NMRevents #NMRchat #NMR 🧲
Two new papers on lung structure and ventilation #MRI with 3D UTE methods, inc patient results

My impressions
- UTE methods (indirect) not as good as HP Xe (direct, but requires inhaled and hyperpolarized gas)
- sequences maturing, processing is critical
- great potential for lung dz evaluation
@brukercorporation.bsky.social - could this award be coupled with sequence sharing support to expand impact of work and accelerate research progress?
I think this #MRI award from @brukercorporation.bsky.social is a really nice way to recognize novel preclinical sequence work! Past winners include hot topics of ZTE/UTE, hyperpolarized, CEST, MRF, deuterium
RT @brukercorporation.bsky.social The finalists for this year's Bruker MRI Award have been chosen! We've narrowed it down to the top 3 finalists. It's your last chance to vote for your favorite! Cast your vote: www.bruker.com/en/landingpa... Voting will remain open until April 18 #NMRchat #MRISky 🧲
