it’s a simple statement of fact, he’s not saying they dont deserve or didnt earn those jobs. “Over-represented” is a statistical term, that simply means the % of black Americans in govt jobs is greater than their % of the population as a whole.

yup. and I had never realized how many black middle class worked in government jobs. until I started thinking about it after someone pointed out that simple fact. And then of course its obvious.

when I read a book I dont like, I feel zero obligation to finish it. Ditto a tv show. My bookshelf and streaming history are littered with things I didnt think were worth my time. This is how I view leaving twitter. I can count on one hand the accounts I miss, and some of them have migrated here

when Doge was in it’s heyday back in the winter and someone pointed out that firing government workers disproportionately hit black Americans, and was therefore a racist thing and thats why its part of P2025, I have never stopped thinking about this fact.

Yesterday I was told that the class I’m scheduled to teach this month, Confronting Oppression & Injustice, is no longer part of our curriculum. This is a required class yet there was no discussion, no faculty vote, just an email saying the class no longer exists. This is what it’s like in Texas now.
