It has nothing to do with actual border control and everything to do with putting on a show for the racists of the country. They can get a solid 40% of the dumbest people in the country to vote for them by making it look like they're beating back an invasion.

I've heard him compared to LBJ. Both were quite legislatively successful Presidents, and for both, their Presidencies died from a thousand papercuts (foreign policy, inflation, shady party dealings, etc).

Now unlike LBJ, Biden won the primary but dropped out due to age. Still, there are parallels.

I mean, no. Pre-10/7, Biden's Israel policy mainly focused on continuing to normalize relations between Israel and its Arab neighbors. After 10/7, it became much more about supporting Israel while its at war while trying to prod the country off the path its currently on.

I mean, I dunno. Much of Biden’s Israel policy was a reaction to October 7th. I think that any kind of Democrat that could win the White House would probably react similarly.

Believe me, I don’t want the Dems to make the same mistake, but I can see them doing so. They had bad cards to work with…

I mean they had a point. Both the Nazi and Soviet atrocities could only happen in the totalitarian systems created by Lenin and Hitler. The only thing I have to say to Chomsky or any other socialist is that I don’t see how their antidemocratic and illiberal brand of power w/o limit is any better…
