Let's talk about art, tech, and the genocide in Congo. As someone who works in Animation and Publishing, tech is something that's always changing and esp in the fast world of animation, "the latest tech" is something that is often encouraged.

I encourage folks to do the same! If you need a new device, try and see if you can get it refurbished.

Asking ourselves, "do we need this, or do we want this?" is so simple, but can have immense impact.

I know when I can, I keep my tech with me as long as possible. The Apple products I have pictured here is from 2017, and when I bought it, i bought it refurbished.

In the DRC, Congolese people and over 40,000 CHILDREN, "work" (slavery) in mines under inhumane and illegal conditions to provide us with minerals, like coltan, in order for us to have our latest tech.

I didn't mention, but Nina learned Plant Magic from her dads (who own their family bakery). Her dads weave medicinal plant magic into their bread! Nina said... "that's cute but i'd rather use plant magic to play magical roller derby?!!" lol.
