I know. It's so upsetting! She's so good. It's really a struggle to get adult dogs adopted. Seniors and puppies go pretty quickly, which is great for the seniors of course, but no one wants 5 year olds.

Would you like to see a very sweet dog at the shelter where I volunteer? She has been at the shelter too long and really needs to find a home. I think she's part Greyhound.

Today (it started hours ago in Australia) is World Wombat Day. These lovable beasts are facing formidable challenges--habitat destruction, cars, mange--leaving 2 of the 3 species endangered.

There are many rescues devoted to aiding wombats either coming out of the wild or going in. Check 'em out!

Yes! This is what practically no one considers. Aside from vet visits or other necessary matters, if your dog won't have fun at the place you're going, do not take your dog. Most dogs would much rather be in bed in their quiet home than in a loud crowd.
