Good piece. And judging by the brainless outrage generated by this article on the Speccy website, the loss of intellectual heft on the right is well down track. Unfortunately your cousin didn’t take his brains to a more moral, cleverer party, he went to Reform which is worse, probably, than Lam.

Agree with all his points. Had some similar experiences with my mum’s recent admission. But just to be clear, from my experience running both hospitals and community services, capacity problems in community settings are even worse than capacity in hospitals settings, just less visible in every way.

Spectacular robbery of the French crown jewels at the Louvre today: three masked men climbed a ladder, broke a window, lifted nine priceless pieces from the Apollo gallery, got away on motorbikes. No one hurt.
Reportedly the most famous piece in the room, the 140 carat Regent diamond, was not taken.

If Lam is a rising star in the Conservative Party, this is very depressing. How breaking promises made to foreigners is in the interests of the British baffles me. We’re foreigners to the rest of the world so if they do this to us in return: treaties, extradition agreements.. we are in deep trouble.
