They've changed a lot in the last few years.
Yup! East Coast baby! (I also follow a lot of US and UK illustrators!)
I've been calling him Chuck Dee. ❤️
Most (maybe all?) of these are also available through Halifax Public Library on Hoopla & Kanopy by the way! Great list so far!
31 DAYS OF HORROR! every day this month i'm going to recommend a different horror film available through Toronto Public Library, via streaming services Hoopla or Kanopy.
Chickadee is safely on his way to the chickadee hospital. I forgot to take a picture, but trust me he was cute.

I texted my dad to tell him about the volunteer opportunities for Hope For Wildlife and he wrote back "Actually, I might enjoy that, unless there are skunks involved".
We have a little chickadee in a box in our kitchen, who flew into our window. I think he's ok, but he's chilling with us for now until Hope For Wildlife gets here to take him to what I imagine is the chickadee hospital.
I say this as a straight cis dude. If you're swapping to make the song queer, that rocks, that's punk, I'm all for it. If you're swapping to make it straight, that has major "I'm not gay though" vibes that I DO NOT care for.
My subway take is that gender-swapping covers of love songs, if it's done to maintain hetero lyrical content is cowardly and uncool.

Incredibly this is exactly where my mind went also!
A friend of mine is convinced that this scene was specifically inspired by and meant to reference Bean Dad & I have to say I really think she's onto something.
The New York Times continues to prove itself to be a conservative propaganda machine wearing a "progressive" hat.
Carla just described a song as sounding like "music I'd hear at a store".
Thanks Laura! It'll go out this week!
I know I'm 45 because the most upsetting part of the movie Weapons (which ruled) was watching the little kid struggling to use a can opener.
Oh hell yeah! I'm pretty swamped for the next 3 weeks, but hopefully starting in Nov I'll have a little more regular free time!
Stupidly, it's the current nazification of the US administration that put the Ramones on my mind (Today Your Love, Tomorrow The World)
Uh Oh, I can feel another Ramones hyperfixation period coming on. (I'm not mad about it)
I don't want to brag, but when you order enamel pins from my shop (no US orders still, sorry) this tiny pizza box is what they ship in (inside an envelope).
No shade to the editors at all, they supplied reference images for literally hundreds of things.

But can you imagine the indignity of living to be the world's oldest cat, only to be immortalized with a portrait of an entirely different cat who looks nothing like you? Rude!
