Working with this amazing Farmer-led Landscape Recovery collaboration of so many individual farmers with a vision to deliver evidence-based habitats at landscape-scale has been uplifting & gives me optimism for a better future 🌍 #Biodiversity

The Breckland Farmers Wildlife Network is a farmer-led group. We came together 12 years ago to collaborate on creating a landscape scale wildlife network in the Brecks. We're very proud to now have 58 members and cover over 50,000ha.

Seems possible. Intriguing. For such low probability events, we need multiple field scale reversions to strike lucky here and there. Which is the vision of the @bfwn.bsky.social , would be fantastic to see it happen

Fantastic plant. I thought it was an ancient/ long-established grassland species, was it included in the seed applied or could it be from the soil seed bank?

Don't care about the massive damage done to native ecosystems by the constant release of vast numbers of invasive pheasants for shooting?

Maybe you'll care about catching Lyme disease instead.

Megafauna bones discovered in South America suggest that humans regularly ate giant sloths and armadillos. Archaeologists now think smaller animals only became dietary staples after the megafauna were hunted to extinction.

A great thread dismantling the latest 'conservation populism' to be floated in Britain. With funding available for species recovery, this is business for some. We'll see more of this pitching for commercial projects that scientists & species experts think is useless. #ornithology #ukbirding
