Linköping University work was well represented at #ECNP. Although unfortunately for us Chiara Montemitro has started a faculty position back in her home country now, she just won the poster prize for her recent study at LiU! Congrats to her and team!
I am at @ecnp.eu having a nice time 🤩
Being in the media pictures, to me feels like Mike Wazawski 😅 even if it’s half my face 😜
Look forward for Monday and Tuesday talks and getting “maybe” a full face picture
Thanks for opening the debate about possible clinical implications of our research
Do you think @paulasalamone.bsky.social et al.’s findings of pervasive sensory and self-interoception disturbances in psychotic patients may suggest that enhanced sensory integration therapies can alleviate hallmark psychosis symptoms? bit.ly/459f4mV #PRF
How to make science reach people? Make it super cute! 🐡🪼⭐️

Argentine deep-sea research is all over the news, and it’s adorable.

We even found our own Patrick Star!
Now people are tuning in after work to watch live streams from the ocean floor

Thanks for the photo 😅 (as I am behind some of the post at BRNet this week with Laura and Marie)

We are super happy to share this self-touch / interoception research study in psychosis 🎉 from Rebecca Boehme’s lab

Next talk: Paula Salamone on bodily self alterations in Psychosis at #brain and #spine. At #BRNet2025
Happy to be in #Utretch for the #BRNet2025
🧠I’ll be presenting our study related to body representation alterations in #psychosis on Friday!

Can we decide a completely unique way of listing publications in CV for one and all applications? Tired of wasting time with "slightly" different formatting.

Making your name bold , bold + underline... reporting IF, not reporting it... report citations (come on... this changes all the time!)

🎂Recently, it was my birthday. Best academic gift: after long publishing times 🫢, getting a paper accepted! 🥳🥳

Just got the email. When I have a link, I’ll share more info 🥳

Just in time for including it in my upcoming grant application 🥹
These findings reveal pervasive sensory and self-related disturbances in psychotic disorders. Impairments in differentiating self- and externally-evoked responses, detectable as early as the spinal cord level, may contribute to higher-order symptoms of psychosis
5/
🚨 Key findings:
📌 Heightened neural activity during touch tasks, rSTG activation (self-) and TP cluster (social-touch)
📌Tactile self-other distinction impairments evident at the spinal cord level.
📌 Muldimensional Interoceptive impairments (HEP, Accuracy, MAIA..).
4/
We examined touch and interoception in 70 participants (35 w psychotic disorder, 35 controls), using:
✅ fMRI 🧠
✅ Evoked Potentials (EPs) ⚡
✅ Psychophysics & behaviors 🖐️💓

Psychosis is often linked to a disrupted sense of self—patients misattribute their own sensations to external sources. But what if these disturbances begin at the most basic levels of bodily processing? Our new study explores this. 👇
