Please remember that the disgust people have over Christopher Columbus is not based on some modern, 21st century “woke” ideology, but rather on contemporaneous accounts of atrocities that make many modern genocides appear quaint in comparison.

Below, are the accounts of Bartlomé de las Casas.
But too many of the slaves died in captivity. And so Columbus, desperate to pay back dividends to those who had in-vested, had to make good his promise to fill the ships with gold. In the province of Cicao on Haiti, where he and his men imagined huge gold fields to exist, they ordered all persons fourteen years or older to collect a certain quantity of gold every three months. When they brought it, they were given copper tokens to hang around their necks. Indians found without a copper token had their hands cut off and bled to death.
The Indians had been given an impossible task. The only gold around was bits of dust garnered from the streams. So they fled, were hunted down with dogs, and were killed. After each six or eight months' work in the mines, which was the time required of each crew to dig enough gold for melting, up to a third of the men died.
While the men were sent many miles away to the mines, the wives remained to work the soil, forced into the excruciating job of digging and making thousands of hills for cassava plants.
Thus husbands and wives were together only once every eight or ten months and when they met they were so exhausted and depressed on both sides... they ceased to pro-create. As for the newly born, they died early because their mothers, overworked and fam-ished, had no milk to nurse them, and for this reason, while I was in Cuba, 7000 children died in three months. Some mothers even drowned their babies from sheer desper-ation.... In this way, husbands died in the mines, wives died at work, and children died from lack of milk ... and in a short time this land which was so great, so powerful and fer-tile... was depopulated... My eyes have seen these acts so foreign to human nature, and now I tremble as I write....

All these rich, successful comedians taking Saudi blood money so they can buy another summer house or have their purebred dogs cloned a thousand times are such repulsive sellout losers.

So remember that man who attacked an elderly woman and shoved her in a bin because he thought she was "a man dressed up as a woman and that she was actually a predatory paedophile"? She died. Transphobes have more blood on their hands 🤬

It's eternally frustrating that the HSE has the blinkers on & only looks to UK when it comes to trans healthcare when Spain & Malta are right there! In Spain I can walk into a pharmacist & get estrogen patches. No GP, no traumatic assessments. Just medicine without the bullshit and no one is harmed.

Ireland could build a new children's hospital every three years for the cost of the hospitality VAT reduction.

We could build a Galway sized luas system every year for the same cost

We'll invest less in the National Grid between now and 2030, than we will in €18 sandwiches in 2026

Having a flashback to when a senior Garda contacted my college in Oxford to try to get me expelled because of my conviction

Then head of the college former DPP Ken McDonald told me about it in a slightly embarrassed tone

Funnily enough, he also had a conviction for drug dealing

"cancel culture" was an overblown thing where some people got fired for sexually harassing their employees and others got yelled at on Twitter. The conservative version, which some claim as an inevitable counterbalance, is doxxing & death threats for making fun of self-proclaimed white supremacists.

Apologize for retweeting the same article twice but - and I say this with no hint of irony - this is a pretext to the single largest, easily litigated lawsuit in human history. This is an egregious violation of IP law, law protected quite literally & specifically by the Constitution. Total insanity.

Irish pharmacists are very supportive if you ask for a non-Teva substitute. Stock shortages might mean they still occasionally have to dispense Teva but they will try their best to respect your wishes. Never put your health at risk if a substitute isn't available.
