Mondays! They're tough to get going, sometimes even by afternoon. Shaking off the weekend can be a bear, right?

This isn't my first rodeo with this problem. Throw a wrench in my routine, and suddenly, getting back on track feels impossible.

One of the great perks of traveling by train:
I get to enjoy beautiful sunsets. 😍

How is your day going?

I hate admitting it.
But it’s true: I have a handicap.

Not the golf-kind but a real, physical one.
You can’t see it, most people don’t even notice.
But it’s there.

I’m hearing impaired. 🧵

Easy Inbox Clean up:

You can filter all your emails and have them automatically delivered to specific folders. In fact, all the major email clients automatically do this for you.

There is one downside, though:

You might miss some of the messages you needed to see.

The downside of using too many productivity apps:

Getting a ton of notifications.

ADHD Hyperfocus is like a productivity superpower, but it can also leave you feeling wiped out.

Try using an app to nudge you into taking breaks.
That way, you keep your energy up and avoid running on empty.

Instead of chasing perfection,
we should simply ‘do what it takes’.

Like getting away from the computer to take a lunch walk.
Even when your work isn’t finished yet.

This is true grit if you ask me.
November 29, 2025 at 2:49 PM
Whether you are distracted by your ADHD or just a perfectionist, work always takes longer than you expected.

The solution?
Timeboxing.

Give yourself a limited time to finish the work.
Be realistic, to add just the right amount of pressure.

That will help you get into flow.

Talk about an Inbox Zero hack!
Just open it today.

Oh well, I might as well have kept my inbox closed today.
Almost all of the emails in there where Black Friday stuff.

Delete - Done.

In the Netherlands we have a saying:
"The busier you are, the more you should rest."

And there is definitely truth in there.

It seems like a waste of time.
But it isn’t.

Friday, I’ll explain why in the next Hacks & Habits.

God, I love my work!

Today, I’m helping a client design a workspace that supports her instead of sabotaging her.

She’s likely undiagnosed ADHD, stuck in a sea of interruptions. And the worst part? Some of them must be answered!

4 ways to fuel your focus and counter your ADHD:

1. Get enough sleep.
6 hours is not enough!

2. Take a 5 minute break every hour.
Recharging can be that fast, yes.

3. Exercise more.
Want dopamine? Get moving.

4. Eat before you crash.
Prevent yourself from running on empty.

How to deal with perfectionists (from a recovering perfectionist).

I know exactly how we operate.

How we keep tweaking endlessly.
How we search for the perfect solution,
and wait for the perfect moment.

If you're a perfectionist, this will hurt.
But you need to hear it.

I had to take over this morning.

My boyfriend wanted to make me coffee, but didn't properly fill the Moka pot. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Not that that is solved, it's time for some serious work.

Have a great week, everybody!

Behind on your work because you procrastinated this week?

Classic ADHD weekend setup.

Don’t let that stop you from spending time with your people this weekend.

Connection isn’t a distraction.
It’s what refuels your focus.

Your brain is your superpower.

But hey, it’s not a bottomless pit.

The more you try to remember, the tougher it is to stay focused.

So, put those to-dos and your planning in your calendar & to-do list instead of stuffing them all in your head.

One of the advantages of being self-employed?
You don't have to ask your boss permission to go to the dentist.

Not exactly my favorite activity, but important enough to make time for.

So, what sneaky personal errands do you squeeze into your workday as a solopreneur?

A client asked me what the best way is to read your email:

- Last message first
- Oldest messages first.

That is an excellent question.
Both have pros and cons, especially if you're behind.

What is your favorite approach and why?

Reducing ADHD Stress is difficult.

The good news:

You don't need to master your brain.

Just learn to master your Inbox.

The 50x Smarter Gmail Seminar on November 25th will help you do that in 2 hours.

Learn the basics for conquering your Inbox once and for all.

Nir Eyal said:

"If we want to master distraction, we must learn to deal with our desire to escape discomfort."

Because distraction isn't just coming from the outside.
The noise comes mostly from our response.

You can have FOMO.
But you don't have to give in.

Be brave. 💪

Beating procrastination is not a character strength or a talent.
It's a skill.

This is what it looks like:

• Break down tasks into small steps.
• Make the task less painful.
• Reward yourself when you're done.

Create a mix of planning and self-care, and you'll beat it.

That foggy feeling you're experiencing? 😶‍🌫️

That's not just ADHD. It might also be your brain begging for sleep.

No rest = no reset.

You’re not lazy.
You’re not broken.

You’re just overdue for a recharge. 🪫

Me: ‘Why do I see so many of this guy's posts on my feed?’

Turns out I'm watching his profile right now.

😂

Maybe it's time for a break.

Decluttering your desk or house means decluttering your brain.

But you don't have to clean out your whole house all at once.

Just start with something small.

Do 5 minutes per day.
And see where that will lead you.

Set a timer! ⏰😬

There are some awesome products in the works.

Just finished a call with @vuhrmeister for a short brainstorm on @fileo_io.

Definitely my cup of tea, having helped numerous neurodivergent people organize their files.

He has plenty of challenges ahead, but he will pull it off.
