The merit principle was not followed when white males were invariably given positions that others could do far better. Initiatives to correct this historic imbalance are for fair access and opportunity and still require that qualifications be met . Only politicians require no skills or abilities

In my case I have added extra insulation to my home already, low energy appliances , lights , etc. and have a heat pump so the capital cost of solar makes the cost benefit to me not worth the effort
