I really believe we deserve Senators who are neither Diane Feinstein nor John Fetterman but I’m not sure the universe agrees
Really gonna have to be good at politics!
Senate Majority Leader John Thune said Monday he hopes the White House withdraws Paul Ingrassia’s Office of Special Counsel nomination, after POLITICO reported on texts that showed him making racist and anti-Semitic remarks to fellow Republicans.
“He’s not gonna pass,” Thune told reporters.

At least three other Republicans signal they will oppose Ingrassia's confirmation.

EXCLUSIVE: One Saturday afternoon in October, my phone lit up with a notification.
I glanced down at the message.
“Anna, Lindsey Halligan here,” it began.
So began my text exchange with the woman who is prosecuting the president's perceived political enemies.

DOJ whistleblower Erez Reuveni says Emil Bove told him, 'those planes need to take off no matter what, and if some court should issue an order preventing that, we may have to consider telling that court 'fuck you.'
Reuveni: It is the highest, most egregious violation of the lawyer's code of ethics.

🧵Guarantee it's the Epstein money trail that's spooking Trump more than the child rape.
As soon as Trump took office, he immediately blocked the 4-year congressional investigation into Epstein's assets.
He also immediately revoked access to all sensitive docs.

In social movement studies, we talk about how marches and protests expand the threshold of acceptable risk so that people take more and bigger social risks IN PUBLIC, EN MASSE. This is extremely important for the bourgeois white folks holding signs and building social rapport.
Not a shitpost: #NoKings is feel-good performative activism for comfortable mostly upper and upper middle class white folks and that’s good, actually. Millions of people in the streets protesting a fascist regime is good. It is good for the normie baseline to be massive displays of public dissent.

It’s going to be an interesting test case to see if an entire administration can govern for four years based entirely on vibes and (literal) shitposting. Honestly nothing else. Nothing to improve the economy, quality of life or national safety. Entirely focused on dicking around on twitter.
it’s been horrifying to see how many republicans believe in the “elected dictator” theory especially after they spent the entire Biden and Obama presidencies (who both won by larger margins) saying that they are dictators
