Yes your taxes should support disabled people.

They should support homeless people.

They should support those living in poverty, children and the elderly.

This is literally the purpose of taxes, and I would far rather support those who need it than continue to enrich the elite.

When I was in high school, I took nursing assistant classes as an elective from my sophomore to senior years. One the the things the teacher drilled into us was the importance of Informed Consent. Seriously, OP's story sounds like a potential malpractice lawsuit in the making!
