EU Parliament votes 546-3 demanding #China frees our citizen #guiminhai whom they have detained for 10 years now.
Shame on China, and, shame on the absentee MEPs and the 3 naysayers who apparently like torture. But despite the baddies, our broad unity sends a strong signal to China. Enough!

And she was just on the other side of the issue. But first of all, she expressed an opinion he didn’t like and he went out of his way to harass and put her in danger. At worst she said something rude about a public figure who had dehumanized people like her repeatedly.

I was trying to put my finger on what bothered me about this portrayal and I think it’s that it just takes the guy’s words at face value, like he was a nice guy and reaction to Charlie Kirk’s death just pushed him over the edge www.nytimes.com/2025/10/12/u...

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

Keeping adoptees from knowing their parents' names under the guise of "privacy" accomplishes exactly the opposite. To claim our humanity right to identity (UNCRC Article 8), we are forced to turn to the press, the police, and invasive DNA tests.

It's hard to disconnect yourself from capitalist pseudoculture, but it's more important now than ever. Spotify is replacing your playlists with corporate muzak. Harry Potter shit is being churned out by the same people who own Batman and The Sopranos. They want to kill the human capacity for art.

Another devastating blow for the disability community as this administration cuts almost every employee responsible for administering funding & oversight for IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).

Education should be a basic human right..and disabled kids are just as deserving.

People need to stop the thinking that’s like “well when things get back to normal we’ll do this.” Remember how we said that about COVID years ago & we’re still in a pandemic? The United States is not coming back to glory & that shouldn’t be the goal. But WE can try to survive if we get together.

Also: if you work for ICE, even if you’re not one of the ones arresting citizens or tackling 15-year-olds or zip-tying kids together and segregating them by race, you’re part of the mechanism making it happen, and you should suffer long-term social and post-regime-change consequences.

Some weirdo on Twitter has been absolutely melting down for like 36 straight hours because I posted:

When this is over, do not forget what ICE did, and what ICE is. And do not make room for them in society. Make sure they know that they are, and will continue to be, reviled and beneath contempt.

Yesterday I was told that the class I’m scheduled to teach this month, Confronting Oppression & Injustice, is no longer part of our curriculum. This is a required class yet there was no discussion, no faculty vote, just an email saying the class no longer exists. This is what it’s like in Texas now.

Estonia has closed the Saatse border crossing with Russia due to an unusually large Russian military presence on the other side. The Estonian Police and Border Guard (PPA) noted increased patrols and military movements that were much higher than normal, which were deemed beyond routine activities.

I like a lot of Diane Keaton movies. I also HATE that she defended Woody Allen. I believe that he is a serial CSA perpetrator and DK shielded him from accountability. That’s also part of her legacy.
