A cygnet having a wee preen
One of this spring’s cygnets tidies its feathers in a swirly grey sea. Its neck is folded back over its body as it grooms its tail. Almost all white now, some feathers are still grey and brown. Its bill is a little open.

The esplanade cygnets are getting big
Two swans and their four cygnets are resting. The are in the corner of the esplanade shore, under a curved wall with sky blue railings. There are grey pebbles at the bottom left corner. With green plants further up. One cygnet is sitting along here. The others are at the wall, near the straw that used to be their nest.

Helped a bee today. It flew off just after I took this photo.
An exhausted bee drinks sugar water while resting on scrunched up kitchen roll that’s soaked in it. It’s in a wee white dish out on some plants. The bee had a fuzzy brown back and a sleek rump.

Wee stray cat from down the road visited earlier. #caturday
A compact tabby cat with green eyes is licking his lips and looking straight at us. He’s on a weathered concrete path edged with wee rocks behind him; some leafy plants are visible. He’s been eating scraps and there’s an old carrot beside him. He doesn’t want that.
