and it's like... you can see the writing on the wall for a company like amazon. they'd want nothing more than to not pay authors and publishers. their ultimate plan is probably to have AI written books and audiobooks and cut out human authors completely. it's already starting.

god, i still remember how it felt the first time i was able to wash my hair (in a hospital bed with a nurse) after major surgery when i was 12. getting clean is the best feeling in the world. <3

not because i love amazon, but because human jobs and livelihoods seem so expendable bc of AI. like, if AI replaces all the jobs...how are we going to live?

Did you know the reason your LED bulbs aren’t lasting the 15 years they promised is that they can’t be used in enclosed fixtures? They have it in tiny print on the bulbs, in an enclosed space the heat cooks the circuits, they have to be exposed to open air

except disease doesn't care how rich or poor you are. king charles has cancer for god's sake. i guess they (RFK and pals) are just so high on their own supply that they think whatever wack "health" "natural" treatments they use are just...good enough? i can't wrap my head around it.

some of the craziness at least makes warped sense from a MAHA perspective. like, we know these nutjobs are anit-vax. but why cancel cancer research? lots of rich people get cancer and probably want a cure? why actively make people sicker in general? what's the endgame here? thin the herd I GUESS??

i listened to a podcast today where the host interviewed a currently CDC scientist. things are really bad there. funding it cut, all the higher ups are stooges, and directed policy is directed by an unscientific conspiracy theorist destroying public heath (RFK Jr).
