The way tech companies constantly do stuff that nobody asked for really tells you a lot about their bigger ideology. They tell themselves that you will like it over time. What they mean is you’ll learn to endure it, or you’ll give up. quality of UI is not actually anywhere on their radar
new iOS update is sleek and also defaults in Music to “you must want songs transition as they would on a dance floor.” so many people will wonder why they can’t just listen to an album. Apps > Music > Song Transitions > toggle off.

for what it's worth, i had the shingles vaccine last year and had zero side effects.
i had the actual shingles like 15 years ago and it was awful. i was always terrified of it coming back (the chicken pox virus can be reactivated randomly your whole life)

All over my FB people talking about their bad experiences with shingles vax and dissuading each other from getting it! We need to give people real info on how to mitigate the symtoms caused by vaccines because vaccines are always better than meeting a virus unprepared. Yet drs aren't coaching ppl

oh i meant to mention this at the time (like a week ago) but it was very jarring to see French police (and army?) holding automatic guns and patrolling in groups at the Strasbourg Christmas market. I understand why (past terrorism at Christmas markets) but it was still frightening.

I re-listened to @kjcharleswriter.com 's The Duke at Hazard during my trip and my absolute favourite part is when she brings in characters from her other books at the end (Robin, Hart, Miles). Now I just want a bunch of books about how Sev and Daizell build a gay friendship empire.
