Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

I split them up, my spouse didn't. The covid on its own was tough and my spouse was just wrecked.

It's so frustrating when your doctor doesn't take your experiences seriously.

I remember having to be firm with at least a few that I wanted various jobs on different days.

Oh god Rob Wieland passed away. This is terribly sad. Some folks you just always imagine you will get an opportunity to get know better one day. It's really sad when that opportunity doesn't come.

The covid vaccine is rough this time around. I recommend making two different appointments for covid and flu, unless you can afford to just be fully useless for a few days.
