“Alberta Health Services (AHS) says it has started the “elimination” of approximately 100 filled and 300 vacant positions…

In a statement, AHS said some of the positions include roles in IT, human resources, and communications.”

When politicians make guarantees, they must be held accountable. Albertans were promised no out-of-pocket costs for healthcare — no exceptions. A $100 vaccine fee isn’t just a bill, it’s a broken promise. #Alberta #Accountability #HealthCare #AxeTheCaxTax #ABleg #ABpoli
A mock greeting card styled as an official government communication from Alberta. On the left side of the open card is a fake invoice labeled “Government of Alberta” with the provincial crest at the top. The address reads “Alberta Health, 10025 Jasper Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta T5J 1G.” The heading says “INVOICE – ADMINISTRATIVE CHARGE,” with details showing a charge of $100 for a COVID-19 vaccination administrative fee. A large red rubber stamp diagonally across the invoice reads “RETURN TO SENDER” in bold block letters. Below, faint text clarifies “SAMPLE – SATIRE / NOT OFFICIAL.”

On the right-hand side, a printed letter is addressed to “Premier Smith.” The text reads:

Dear Premier Smith,
In April 2023, you made Health Care Guarantee, assuring Albertans that no one would ever have to pay out of pocket to see their doctor or receive the medical treatment they need — no exceptions.

I recently received a $100 administrative bill for a COVID-19 vaccine.

In the spirit of your promise, I am therefore returning this bill to your office for correction.

A Tax-Paying Albertan

The card combines political satire and protest imagery, criticizing Alberta Premier Danielle Smith for an alleged contradiction between a public healthcare promise and a supposed out-of-pocket vaccine fee. The “RETURN TO SENDER” stamp symbolizes the sender’s rejection of the bill and their demand that the government honor its guarantee of no-cost healthcare. The overall tone is formal, ironic, and defiant, intended to highlight perceived inconsistency in provincial healthcare policy while emphasizing that the image is parody, not an authentic government document.

The Premier's new mandate letters do nothing to address Alberta's urgent health care issues.

“Every time this government talks about choice in health care, what they really mean is further privatization, & Albertans paying more out of pocket for the care that they need," says FOM's Chris Gallaway.

If you haven't voted in the municipal election yet, read this first. The UCP injected party politics and big money into these elections to appease Take Back Alberta. No one wanted it. Danielle Smith herself said she was against party politics in municipal elections. albertaviews.ca/parties-over...
Municipal Parties Over People - Alberta Views
Danielle Smith was being lobbied to legislate municipal parties. Third-party advertiser Take Back Alberta (TBA) was in fact behind the push.

Let’s have a frank conversation about Health in our community.

This is NOT about right or left wing politics… it’s about the right care at the right time.

Medicine Hat deserves a HC system that works for them.

Spread the word and let’s have an honest discussion!

I want Jack Smith to show up and just be like "I don't know anything about it, I was on the other side of the world. Any other stupid questions that you could have answered with a Google search?"

Just spoke to a lifelong friend in Canada, who is selling their winter home in America and refuses to spend another dollar here as it would be supporting terrorism. She views our government as a terrorist organization and refuses to buy any American products of any sort.

At one time in my life I wouldn't donate to fundraisers if I only had a little to give. It seemed too small to make a difference so why bother? Now I know that goals get achieved when LOTS of people give those small amounts! Let's smash this hay drive one $8 bale at a time. 🍂

Bit of an odd result here, namely for the few parents who have school aged kids believing strongly that teachers get enough money to take care of their child (or children) all day, as it is.

Something that I think people need to consider is that when Pinochet lost the 1990 referendum he refused to cede power and ordered his military to rally and oppress the people. Pinochet had full unilateral control of the military with no meaningful legal checks. He wrote their paychecks.
