I'll not take this personally, since I *am* a retired engineer. And I'll have to add that the vast majority of my fellow engineers I've worked with were not remotely like this.
Yes, there were a couple of 'crackpots' with odd ideas that made the rest of us go "Da Fuk?" But they were aberrations.
