Blood test results from yesterday came back. Vampires offered me Thanks and invited me over for a snack… am gonna pass. (Results were all good, but protein was on the low-normal side. But mainly, LDL Cholesterol is 42, which is awesome, given I am on Repatha.)

Online friend @kithrup.bsky.social is a freaking saint for giving away books (that he bought and paid for) by authors he wants to support each and every day. It's a lot of work and quite a bit of money he's put into it for not much in return. He brings the joy of books to people every day.

Operating budget got slashed for the coming year. Might just take that job, if they offer it. The rampant lying here about the importance of our research is fundamentally flawed, when all they do is complain about the budget- which grows each year. Seems there’s insane BS being shoveled.

Awakened at 4am by airport rampant noise. Must be people leaving early for the holidays. Teen is down with Flu A until Thanksgiving break. And I am still cleaning up after the furlough, but mostly in good shape at work. “New” (lateral?) job interview later today, then start “use or loose” vacay.

So… recent suicidal kid’s mom talks to spouse… reveals her teen has a history of manipulative behaviors, creating the illusion of intentional self harm & had therapy regarding similar interactions… 5 years ago. And lost friends over it.

Up at 4am, as this post is being brought to you by a nightmare induced from being forced to eat spicy Mexican vegetarian enchiladas after 7pm. (sighs) I like them well enough, but my body & brain- after 7pm- doesn’t. I eat anything tomato based or spicy, the nightmare terrors start at 3am. [F*ck]
