The Green Party are supporting Catherine Connolly *because* we care about nature, and because we have always said that climate justice and social justice are inseparable.

Buried at the back of an article - current Director of the Irish Car Park Association; David Cullen admits they were wrong about the #TransportPlan

“We’ve been embarrassed to say we got it wrong… some of our car parks are busier than ever”

There's a housing crisis. Councils who don't take this seriously by planning for more housing around train stations are to be called out.

Great improvements to Local Link for Thurles linking Ballingarry and better service on Nenagh-Clonmel route: great.

Now if TCC could play their part on housing.

I welcome more public transport in Thurles and everywhere

I would also welcome Tipperary County Council planning for more homes to be built near the train station. They adopted a local area plan last year that neglected to plan for more homes near the train station.

They want a few dozen houses in housing estates on the other side of town. Ask them if they want 100 apartments built next to the train station as a test of their support for housing.

The public representatives of Thurles do not want more public transport-oriented housing built in Thurles.

They passed a new local area plan in 2024 that zoned land for new residential on the opposite side of town from train station. Nothing near train station.

"Irish Rail’s new commuter plan will make Thurles as accessible to Dublin as Greystones"

Great for the people of Thurles, where 372 homes were built in the last 8 years. Meanwhile 2,758 homes built in Greystones.

Should we be rewarding anti-housing parts of the country?

We had a fine afternoon meeting residents in Stepaside today and a great response for Catherine Connolly.

This commentator has long been using his many pulpits to preach his toxic sermons about people he disagrees with.

If your organisation books this abusive individual to MC your event, you're endorsing the increasing toxicity towards people in public life. 2/2

Same writer in 2023: "Cycling, as I see it, is a luxury for the gentrified upper-middle classes who can afford to live within gentle whizzing distance of central Dublin: a lifestyle humble-brag masquerading as mass transit."

Reality: less than half of all people who cycle live in Dublin city.

The council are flying the national flag at half mast today to mark that it is 10 years today that ten of our neighbours in Carrickmines lost their life in a fire at their homes.

I was proud to explain to local residents why I'm supporting Catherine Connolly for president of Ireland, along with colleagues from Labour, Soc Dems, Sinn Féin and PBP.

Catherine is the only presidential candidate to take a strong stance on climate, nature and equality.

Thank you @catherinegalway.bsky.social for visiting Dundrum straight after the RTÉ debate this evening and to the Rathdown4Connolly team for organising.

And for taking the time to speak with every child who wanted a moment and a photo with the next president of Ireland.

Despite ambitious promises in their manifestos and Programme for Government, the Government parties have failed to invest adequately in childcare in this Budget cycle.

It's official. They're giving big restaurant chains a massive tax cut, costing nearly €700m in the #VAT cut to hospitality.

For that kind of money you could:

👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 Bring in a second tier of child benefit - lifting 55,000 children out of poverty
🚌 Make public transport free

Today is the last day to change where your vote is.

The presidential election is on Friday 24th October, the bank holiday Friday.

Wherever you'll be that day, set your address to there to make sure you get the chance to vote.
