Mostly nature.

I delete posts regularly.
Not counting a jumping spider I logged last week in my office, I haven't done any legitimate iNatting since Nov 2nd since I've basically been holing up every weekend to finish writing my book by the end of the year. Looking forward to hiking this week some.

Can picture this couple well.
Overheard at dinner: “Are they religious?”
“Very. She’s Baylor and he’s A&M.”

Took a day off Vyvanse today due to some weird chest/anxiety vibes it was giving me. I still did a lot but was significantly lazier about it and easily could have rotted on the couch all day instead. But hey, food was good today at least. Might eat a few more brownies and find something salty.

Jennifer Ehle's performance in 1923 as an abusive nun is...damn. Talk about some acting skills.

Glad someone posted this. I finally looked into it yesterday and followed the directions and all it did was screw up my inbox sorting. So, I turned it back on. It has been like this for years anyway.
The malwarebytes Google opting-your-emails-into-ai-training thing is not true. The post is based on one bad tweet.

I know anti-tech lamenting is a Bluesky core principle, but please use the same judgement you would for any other clickbait.

Google denies ‘misleading’ reports of Gmail using your emails to train AI

My dad: chain smoker until around 1990. Kept drinking until things really got bad circa 1998. Sober since then. But that was funneled into stimming with food and snacking on candy, which affected his weight and heart condition. But he had "selective hearing" acc to docs in the 90s...lol
I am genuinely convinced that one of the reasons it used to be thought that most people grew out of ADHD as adults was how common smoking was.

Sounds like a great property the county should buy.

Q: Are you affirming that you think President Trump is a fascist?

MAMDANI: I've spoken about--

TRUMP: That's okay. You can just say yes. I don't mind.

The Democratic Party would be a lot better if it had embraced Zohran Mamdani the way it's embracing Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Looks like potential viable observation of a spotted lantern fly here in Texas over on iNat. TBD on how it got here if the observer will ever post more info. Observer originally called it a salt marsh moth so I suspect they have no idea and it is just now *here*.

I watched Ghostbusters with my 11 yo last night (his first time) and I forgot how much cussing and suggestive content was allowed in PG. I knew there were some *scenes* and I fast forwarded through those but a lot more shit and hell than I recalled. He says the school bus riders say worse lol

Trump's economy is being held up by a massive AI bubble.

A recent study found that of 300 companies that owned generative AI tools, 95% reported zero return on their investments.

We will not entertain a bailout of these companies should this bubble pop.

Kroger is getting really greedy with their pricing on day old bakery items.

Best thing I've done the last few months was return to making my own "latte" every morning. I use that term loosely because I know I am not using the right foam/steamed milk ratio, I'm just doing something I like. But I found finishing sugars yesterday at the store and now they are *elevated*

My niece is at the Aggie game. She's applied but hasn't gotten accepted yet but has definitely become much more interested in going there, hopefully. Looks like she's getting an introduction to the wild ride of Aggie football games right now lol

Love that I knew our massive water infrastructure proposition was likely to go to support this.

Trying to debate if I have the batch of recalled Vyvanse because this week it has simultaneously felt like it isn't working and is also working *too well* and I can't tell what's accurate.

Becoming more convinced some of the many perimenopause "symptoms" being shared aren't actually related to perimenopause but are perimenopause ripping off every neurodivergent woman's mask and it feels related to peri because it is happening at the same time but...it's ND of some kind.

Ack. I was planning to go to Joey's (CPBPD) talk in Houston Sunday but just went to buy tickets and it is sold out. I'd waited to buy them because my husband ended up out of town for field work and return was up in the air, now it is Sunday early afternoon. But can't go now, waited to long! booooo.

I paid $8 for a small honey cinnamon latte the other day. I haven't bought coffee out in months, mostly because I've been using my own espresso maker and going that route. And will continue to do so because it wasn't worth $8! Pair this with Boba teas...and yeah, I don't go anymore.
The steep tariffs imposed by President Trump have magnified the economic strain of an already volatile coffee market, leaving shop owners with the question: Can they absorb some of those increased costs without putting themselves out of business?
Tariffs are testing your neighborhood coffee shop
Coffee shops across the country are wrestling with how to remain affordable “third spaces” under the weight of President Donald Trump’s tariffs.

Two years ago I spent a considerable amount of time digging around into a developer who was buying a previously-leased-from-an-energy-company state park here in Texas. It didn't take long to see that all the rich people know the other rich people, doesn't matter what "side" they are on.

The reason the emails read like hot garbage is because they don't have to worry about being judged. These are not men who have ever poured over an email out of fear of not being taken seriously or not being treated professionally.
