I should call or ask about this. Would love to. I rang a Paul Revere bell this year, and that was really fun.

Yes! But I'm sure those apples are reserved for the apple aficionados who discovered it and did the research.

Here for the apple reviews!

Thought of you when this very old French apple tree (Drap D'Or de Bretagna) was discovered in Maine:

Regarding National Guardsmen and women being deployed in various cities, please don't demonize them. They can't be expected to know if their orders are legal or not. They aren't the problem, the people giving the orders are (Trump, Bondi, iller, Patel, etc).

We should not create a process with prohibitive paperwork and then catastrophically punish people for not being able to navigate the administrative burden.

This is an immigration post.

Or is it a healthcare post?

Or a student loan post?

Or an affordable housing post?

Or a SSDI post?

Or a...

Today, I drove an hour and a half with my wife and a couple friends to pick up a neighbor who was summarily, inexplicably arrested by ICE at a check-in ten days ago and then just as inexplicably released, 100 miles from home today. It was a happy occasion, all things considered, but...

In any other country, if federal agents fired upon journalists when unprovoked — what would we call it?

If federal agents marched down streets demanding papers — what would we say?

Authoritarianism — let’s not pretend it’s something else when it happens in our American cities.

Disinformation – lies & manipulation to divide us – created conditions for political violence, hatred & normality of disgusting views. Disinformation erodes democracy. The enemy is us, but the macro-villains are authoritarian leaders & structures pulling strings to make us enemies of ourselves.

We each come into contact every day with a range of untrue, manipulated, micro targeted content designed & given to us specifically to deepen differences, move our behaviors & emotions to extremes. Please breathe online. Or get offline. Go hug your friends. Look someone in the eye. Commit to truth.

I adapted this recipe from a King Arthur vanilla version:

You can make them if you like! Here's the recipe.
Almond & Orange Cake
BAKE: 30 to 35 mins for cake or 15-20 minutes for large muffins
YIELD: one 8" cake or 6 large muffins.

I use large muffin tins (about ¾ of a cup to 1 cup each) and get 6 cakes. I bake them for about 18 minutes.

Ingredients (get all the ingredients ready first)
•	4 large eggs, separated, at room temperature (can let sit in hot tap water to warm them quickly)
•	1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons (124g) granulated sugar, divided
•	1 teaspoon almond extract
•	1 teaspoon orange juice
•	1 tablespoon (or more) orange zest
•	1 1/2 cups (145g) Almond Flour (sifted)
•	1 teaspoon baking powder
•	1/4 teaspoon table salt Instructions
1.	Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray an 8" round pan with non-dairy (oil-based) non-stick baking spray. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of the sugar listed in the ingredients into the bottom and sides of the pan and sprinkle in some orange zest.
2.	Using an electric mixer or stand mixer, beat together the egg yolks, 1/4 cup of the sugar, and the almond extract, orange juice, and orange zest until sugar is dissolved and the yolks turn a pale yellow.
3.	Using an electric mixer or stand mixer (you have to clean your whisk attachment if you used it for the yolks), whip the egg whites until they form soft peaks. Slowly beat in the remaining 1/4 cup sugar. Set aside.
4.	Whisk together the dry ingredients — flour, baking powder and salt — and add to the egg yolks. Stir together to form a thick dough.
5.	Fold in the egg whites in three stages. The first 1/3 will lighten the thick yolk & flour mixture, so don’t worry about knocking out the air at that point. Be gentle as you fold in the rema

Many people with intellectual disabilities and other developmental disabilities are not able to get transportation to programs which serve them. These are adults with disabilities who need 24-7 care while parents work.

Sometimes the rides just don't show up.
