Microsoft yet again shoe horning things into their products (and down our throats) that no one wants, or arguably, cares about.
they already have an AI assistant for XBox in the works.

no, really. pivot-to-ai.com/2025/03/15/m...
My first week at Uni. And that Wonderstuff Exp was on repeat play in my room in halls.
Fancy seeing the top 10 pop chart as seen on Teletext #OnThisDay 1993 in which the Pet Shop Boys was number 1 with Go West.

#90s

It's taken me 35 years and five ZX Spectrums to complete The Hobbit. Feels like a bigger deal than buying my house or having my family. I kept this quest secret for so long, I can only mention it here. Now I'm finally in a comfy tunnel-like hall, feeling like I've won at life.
TurtleWoW have been in the news because Blizzard are going after them. I thought it was just another emulated server, ptw, rmt etc. It's anything but. Pretty impressive. And the Unreal Engine client they're working on looks pretty rad. Oh what could have been! www.youtube.com/watch?v=8inw...

Pretty sure there's a law against mentioning cat sitting without posting photos of said cats!
This! For the money they’re hard to beat.
Trying my hand at "Vibe Coding". When it works it's pure magic. When it doesn't work... Today's example. I have a web page with a list. I can move items up and down. It spent an hour failing to move a specific entry because it "forgot" that arrays start at 0 and it was counting the web list from 1.

What happens if you let AI run a vending machine? Actually autonomously managing a money-making process is a very good test for AI.

Anthropic did exactly that, and it lost money. But the flaws (& strengths) provide a great lens on what AI is good and bad at, and how those gaps might be closed.
I mean, I didn't need another rabbit hole to disappear into, but the idea of this is super cute. www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEhy... I had no idea it was a thing!

The Red Riding trilogy is on Netflix as of last week. Just rewatched the first one and it's just as powerful as the first time I saw it way back when. Feel like I've been hit around the head with a heavy blunt object and may need a lie down. Content warning: it's grim, very grim, but very very good.
Sorry - I realise it's bad form of me to shorten Viola's Room to VR (you'd think they'd have thought that one through) but yes. All good points.
A friend who is cleverer than me posed a question about whether VR is theatre or not. Which had me thinking. Leaving aside, for the moment, whether it is or not does the lack of live performance put VR in some weird marketing black hole?
Just had another play through of Dishonored, reaaaaally enjoyed it. Thought I'd give Dishonored 2 another go and had forgotten they changed the VA for the Outsider. Urgh.
Combat was hands down the worst thing about Cyberpunk for me. It never felt right from the first real mission. It’s a shame because I could so easily live in the world they created.

I'm doing the 1,000 album thing. If you've got album recommendations please do message them to me. I'll take as many as you've got! I think I'm currently at something like 440, but that includes 'will get back to you' responses. Who knew making a list of 1,000 things would be hard?
Check out their membership card they send you when you join!
Not trying to change your mind about Bauhaus, just your comment made me think of the jelly song!
There’s a song they have that I classify under “4am music” called “all we ever wanted” that mentions eating jelly but also captures that feeling of everyday tedium. It’s a bit unlike all their other stuff but it manages to teleport me to another time and place every time.
