📣THREAD: It’s surprising to me that so many people were surprised to learn that Signal runs partly on AWS (something we can do because we use encryption to make sure no one but you–not AWS, not Signal, not anyone–can access your comms).

i love running ssh tarpits just to see what people would be doing if they had real access, like forcing my host to reboot in about 150 ways (why though?)

The client identifying as "SSH-2.0-paramiko_3.5.1" authenticated as "root" with "admin" as the password. The client sent about 150 different semicolon-separated commands in one line, all trying to reboot the host, before disconnecting again.

reminder that telegram, outside of 1-on-1 secret chats that nobody uses, has the same level of encryption as discord

every single group chat, including private ones, and basically every single DM chat you have on telegram, all of them, are as vulnerable to this as any other non-e2ee messenger
