Complete English translation for Metalgun Slinger on the Game Boy Advance has just been released. Its romhacking.net intro: "a [Western-themed action platformer], and combat is based upon chaining projectile attacks and acrobatic techniques." Sounds really cool! www.romhacking.net/translations...

i enjoyed the first run of Chainsaw Man, but it is utterly bizarre to me to imagine its current syndication touching on the societal themes people mention, when the original epiphany of the main character's arc was "i just want to have sex." i do plan on getting to the new stuff, regardless lol.

Tonight's look is Castlevania: Curse of Darkness for the Playstation 2.

This is easily the most maddening of the Igavania saga, yet there is something buried underneath that draws me into its embrace.
Moth to a flame or something like.

I updated my 2015 review of La Pucelle Tactics. It now has a relatively short section dedicated to its Ragnarok rerelease. I wrote it off-the-cuff, and it's a minor thing compared to my usual articles. Still, maybe someone will find it helpful. Warning: The 2015 review has yet to be rewritten!

Predecessor to 'Disgaea,' 'La Pucelle' delivers its own irreverent humor and whimsy—and strategy gameplay. (Includes 'Ragnarok')

do you ever think about how embarrassing it is that Chiaki J. Konaka has struggled since 2009 to get the Despera anime made? literally one of the best writers of the ENTIRE medium, but every flavor-of-the-month shonen has to get its own series that never concludes.

i remember laughing at their low IQ game and returning to my Toontown free trial
some of the people at anime forum meets i went to in the 00s were obsessed with this. it sounded boring when they talked about it, and it looked miserable when i saw it being played.

elsewhere, someone showed me the leroy jenkins video a couple of days after it happened and it wasn't funny at all.
On this day in 2004, World of Warcraft was released in North America.

New blog post! It’s an angsty entry! I complain about the “price” of being a writer in the post-SEO world. Also, I critique ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!’s’ newest support wave for the Super Quant archetype.

it really is astonishing things like this can still happen, even with high-profile releases like Sonic Origins. Sonic fans will make an enhanced remake of S3&K that runs on a vibrator over a weekend, and so many people struggle to find any work.
Very tired of these bad retro ports - it feels like for every good one, there’s five with input lag, weird bugs, timing problems and/or horrid AI upscaling.

There’s a ton of devs passionate about these games, how about giving them these projects instead of the cheapest bidder?
Here's the in game finale to R-Type Delta which is running so fast the buildings no longer sink, all particles are missing & the music hard cuts as it's all been scrolled off-screen. The whole game's like this, so the music sync'ing to the action in st.3, lol no etc

Also missing enemies, bugs etc

I remember receiving the review key on Friday night. The review had to be published on Monday morning and I had to work my other job all weekend because fuck ever getting paid to review games.

Knocked out the achievements and the review in 18 hours because I handle shit and Guardian Heroes rules
Today is the one day I should discuss one of my all-time favorite games that appeared on both the Sega Saturn and Xbox 360: Guardian Heroes.

Alas, I already said all I wanted to say in a review I wrote way back when the XBLA version launched
