It might actually be easier to cut the fiber connecting to them. They're typically just a couple feet under ground, not guarded, and it's trivial enough to sever with a small tractor/backhoe. If damaged it's upwards of tens of thousands of dollars to replace, not counting the impact to e-commerce. 😉
