oh my god this works so much better. The reason to keep doing runs can even be “if I make their dreams too good for too long they’ll realize they’re asleep and wake up! I need you, Mel, goddess of nightmares, to enter their dreams every once in a while and beat them to keep them asleep.

it was like, fine, overall, but it wasn’t just like, a perfect setup like Hades 1 left us with.

Hades 1’s story was so clean, how death worked, why you got to keep running after the game was over, etc. It all just worked.

Hades II feels a lot clunkier in that regard. Chronos’s fate isn’t built up like Hades’s is, you get to keep doing runs because you have to it’s a roguelike i guess???
