My grand finale tonight. An image I've dreamed of capturing ever since being a young boy in the 1960s. The iconic Horsehead Nebula. It's taken 4 months since buying the SeestarS50 for the time, location and seeing conditions to be right.

Very happy with this. 😊🎉🔭

Today's Cask Marque visits done in Rainham, Upminster and Stifford where there was a new outlet for accreditation: The Kings Arms. Did very well with full marks for Beer and Cellar. Excellent pint of Wadworth 6X.

Beer O'Clock now, something more warming.

Cheers 🍻

Some months ago, my friend Maurizio visited Athens (as Technical Director of the Greek Beer Awards) and checked all the top-class bars for the article he wrote for Bar Convent Berlin.
➕ the bars for your list
☑️ visit them
🍸 enjoy their drinks and hospitality
but first of all read the article:

Recommendations for unique bar experiences in Athens.

Taken from the 'other place'. Seestar not so active here on Bluesky it seems. Some news for all Seestar users.

Wine gardens for beer lovers

I've been lurking more than posting these days, but today I have a reason to post something: the Viennese Heuriger!

If you're a fan of beer gardens, you'll love the Heuriger (wine garden). There's tasty wine, food, and Sturm!!

Beyond Beer: The Viennese Heuriger (Wine Garden) • A Tempest in a Tankard
Much like the first beer gardens, the Viennese Heuriger was an open-air tavern where people could bring food to enjoy with their wine.

Was up early and already in the kitchen by 6.30am. Busy gardening session ahead. Small haunch of venison went into a red wine, rosemary and juniper berry marinade last night. Veg prepped. All went into the slow cooker. Pleased with my new trimmer, more to do though. But it's Beer O'Clock. Cheers 🍻

Lovely to find some Dahlias still in fine form here at RHS Hyde Hall, Essex. The squash and pumpkin display was also good to see again this year. So many varieties.

Time to head to the café for my usual ham, egg and chips 😋

Both are excellent brews. The Adnams Suffolk Bitter is a favourite of mine and one I always try and pick up in M&S in town. Enjoy 🍻

Beer O'Clock here: Those that know me from 'the other place' might remember my wingman, Old Cloth Ears who went 🌈 last year, missed greatly. Seen here below on the left. Bob, on the right, now keeps me company now and again 😊🍻🐈‍⬛

He's a great guy, he organised and drove the new brewing apprenticeship scheme about 6 years ago. Shame to see some of the outlets have lost their brew kits but that's how things pan out sadly. The one in Chelmsford is very good and brewer, Rhys, has won a SIBA award for one of his brews, Roger.
