If we're talking about bias, why do BBC politics programmes, from Politics Live to the Laura Kuennsberg Show, still always begin with a look at the newspaper front pages, which are overwhelmingly biased in one direction. Helps frame the entire news agenda and debate in their favour

Let's stop pretending that the billionaire media, endlessly attacking the BBC, has the slightest interest in balance, impartiality and accuracy. They won't be happy until the BBC is more rightwing than Vlad the Impaler. And then it still won't be enough.

4. Farage probably has a gambling industry donor.

The BBC has to defend the values it embodies. The BBC has to make the case for representing British liberal democratic values in a fractured Britain where the essence of what it stands for is increasingly contested. Without the BBC making a case for what it stands for it will wither & die.

The slightest thing he says tends to be in the headlines, they've hardly ever looked at his criminal charges and anti-constitutional operations, and they've never considered his mental capacity.

The BBC is the latest part of ‘the public realm’ to feel the wrath of the right.

The playbook is wearyingly similar.

Underfund them. Hold them (piously) to the highest standards. Pillory them for all errors. And then co-opt, or neuter, them. 1/2
