I write down everything I want to happen as brief scene descriptions, in no particular order. Then I re-arrange those moments so that it makes sense as a narrative. I add some connective scenes so the whole thing flows, and boom! Outline.

How do you go about outlining a story? Do you have an ending or outcome in mind and fill in the story backwards? Do you start with a beginning and see where the story takes you? Something else?

i also think that comic books are magic spells crafted by those that make them and the intention in which they are made and engaged with charges the magic within them into our community

you see a comic book issue on the rack and the expectation isn’t that you’ve read every single issue before it. most comics are (and should!) be written to stand alone even if it is issue #347 or whatever

absorb yourself in a narrative and follow the ideas created by the author and artists

comic books are a creative storytelling medium where intention is necessary

comics cannot be read “passively” and require intuitive thought to create and to read. comics don’t operate in a space where people want brief summaries. they exist as snapshots of stories to become fully invested in
