🥰 Yes! But I also love pancakes and waffles and am unable to pass up an opportunity to discuss
Don't pour it over the pancake, put some syrup on the plate and put the pancake on top of the syrup...
I am, however, included on a list entitled "Genocide simps and most hated by Edward Said" which sorta proves my earlier point about zealot-maintained blocklists. I think this might have happened before the election when I commented about how voting wasn't an expression of personal virtue, etc.

“Now Scientific American has updated and re-released what it calls the “classic graphic” that shows that a human on a bicycle—able to coast, or freewheel, without pedaling—remains the world’s most energy effecient traveler.” @carltonreid.com on the re-release of the iconic graph in @forbes.com.
Today I discovered I'm being blocked by 65 accounts, and I feel very neutral/unemotional about this
I am in full support of this comment. Have you tried the syrup on bottom trick? Not ashamed to say I learned that from the acclaimed TV series "Bosch", either.
This is the way - but my advice is to check the blocklist carefully prior to subscription, some are run by zealots who will reply to a comment like "the Biden administration was halfway decent on antitrust issues" with "so what you're really saying is you support the genocide of the Palestinians?"
I have multiple times now seen people remark the volume of hatred they get on Bluesky for pretty anodyne opinions.

...Got no idea what they're talking about. I've never seen it.

Because I went through blocklisting follow networks of the most virulent dipshits on this website.

Free and clear since
Not sure I've ever heard "having billionaire sugar daddies" defined as entrepreneurship, but you do you.
Which cartels did they destroy from top to bottom?
Please, Fox, do the right thing and follow the Trumps’ advice and prohibit any D pol from appearing on your network. Maybe then the consultant class will stop offering up their clients as that day’s Emmanual Goldstein.

Wishful thinking, I realize.
This is a lovely essay that echoes my own childhood with extraordinary fidelity. I grew up on a farm so was only able to play D&D with friends occassionally; as a result I spent a lot of my time creating & refining elaborate dungeon maps, going through reams of graph paper. Thank you for sharing!

full employment + Covid WFH + BLM + MeToo broke the brains of so, so, SO many american elites
i think we are living through, in the US at least, a significant gender backlash and part of it is absolutely elite-driven.
I always love it when law enforcement appropriates the Punisher logo, not understanding that Frank Castle aka the Punisher, actually hates law enforcement and felt forced into vigilantism due to the impotence & outright corruption of law enforcement. He literally rips his logo off cop uniforms.

I wasn't disappointed, I pretty much knew what I was getting myself into, but I just have a preference for things that have tension & release, polychromatism, the less is more aesthetic. It was a mile wide and not an inch deep, but let's say it was 6 inches deep. I dug the bell sounds and vocal bits
It was my fourth time seeing Autechre, I think this is the 4th decade I've experienced them in. Somebody asked me if they always sounded like this. I never know how to respond, I guess I'd say earlier performances had more to dig into and appreciate. Maybe I'm just desensitized at this point.
Saw Autechre & Mark Broom tonight. Somebody told me Mark is a big hardgroove DJ, but I don't really know what hardgroove is. He played a variety of stuff. Dug it. Was my fourth time seeing Autechre, the first 40 minutes were great. After that absence of contrast started to get tiring. 6/10 night.
I really hope that some future POTUS has the good sense to raze this abomination to the ground.
Bill Burr wasn't paid for his comedy, but to generate quotes like these.
The way their gear shaked while they ran tells me that dress-up is more important to many of them than actual performance, and somebody way smarter than me about these sorts of things should investigate the possibility of leveraging this observation into an oppositional tactical advantage.
inexplicable moronic *moves*, not views. my kingdom for an edit button!
Now that I've gone down this rabbit hole, I'll go one step further and wonder if the consultants & polling firms giving Dem leadership bad advice are being funded & controlled by AIPAC and/or proxies, making calculation that a weakened Democratic party easier to control re: Israel/Palestine policy.
AIPAC is pushing Jeffries' team to make these inexplicable, moronic views because they know it will weaken him, make him more dependent on their money. They're reminding his team multiple times per day what they did to Cori Bush.

His self-owns makes no sense unless viewed through that prism.
Pure speculation: AIPAC is squeezing Jeffries, on the one side promising a well-funded pro-Israel primary challenge if he endorses Mamdani; on the other side, withholding endorsement earns help w/left-wing primary challenge. They made him praise Adams to send a clear message: dance, puppet, dance.
Hakeem Jeffries is acting like he *wants* to draw a strong primary challenger in 2026 and, honestly, I wish him all the luck in the world there.
The wiki page was edited this afternoon with that info and it has been contested in the editors comments. Multiple news sources say he was born in Brooklyn and likely has dual citizenship via his parents.
