Today's #BlackHistoryMonthShoutOut is to the late great Octavia E. Butler, speculative fiction author extraordinaire. Her novel, "Parable of the Sower" was actually the book that ushered me into sci Fi, outside of movies. The book is super salient right now. I advise a read if I were you. Prescient.

Jason Carter, the late president's grandson, accepted the award on his grandfather's behalf.
