Yeah that's my preference personally, something in-world that has a clear logic to it, like how Morrowind used actual in-world public transit methods (Silt Striders & Boats) to fast travel.

Only if it's skipping traveling along the same path multiple times, and even then doesn't need to be anywhere/any time. Depending on the game itself you could have it be restricted to open spaces or away from enemies, or from specific points like teleporters. A lot of other factors come into it.

Have you tried scaling up on export? In my experience it retains the sharpness a lot better on here doing that, something like 400% works alright from my attempts. Ideally you wouldn’t need to do any workarounds though yeah.
