You may have seen some headlines about welfare spending going up to £406.2bn by 2030/31.
That is correct, it is the OBR figure.

Here is what you may not have seen.
Of the £406.2bn
A) £195.4bn goes to pensioners
B) £13.9bn goes on child benefit.

Facts matter.

What will the consequences be for Boris Johnson?

Prosecution for gross negligence manslaughter? Or misconduct in public office?

Or...maybe...nothing at all? Except for some additional quips at lucrative after dinner speeches.

He has no right to criticise future governments on anything.

Fantastic news that NE Herts has a Labour MP again. @chrishinchliff.bsky.social was voted in as a Labour MP and never wanted it any other way.

Great to see the other MPs returning too.

Great that Labour East, with its many new MPs, was able to attract a number of new ministers to its event at the Labour Conference, including the Prime Minister!

Here he is being introduced by Labour East chair @vaughanwest.bsky.social.

Vaughan is our very own: he's also an NE Herts CLP executive.

Palestinian families are facing the horrors of famine and a daily fight to survive.
Israeli hostages have been made to suffer unimaginably by Hamas terrorists.

It is a dark time, but we must never lose the hope of securing an enduring peace. A peace that can only come with two states.

This Labour government is investing to give our children the best start in life.

This week we've rolled out 30 hours of government-funded childcare, saving up to £7,500 and supporting more parents back into work.

Interesting statistics from Private Eye regarding hotels for asylum seekers.

Chris Philp is not a serious person- certainly on this topic.

Shocked to see the incident involving an Air India plane on its way to London this morning. It is devastating news and I'm thinking of everyone onboard, those affected on the ground and their loved ones at this difficult time.

This work is unsung. But we should be pointing to it.

The tories neglected things and put the country in a terrible position. We're *beginning* to dig ourselves out of their mess.

Reform's solution? Unfunded tax cuts, Liz Truss style. A disaster awaiting us. #PMQs
🚨 NEW: Labour is lifting 100,000 children out of poverty by expanding access to free school meals.

Alongside free breakfast clubs, cheaper uniform costs and government-funded childcare, Labour is putting money in parents’ pockets and giving children the best start in life.
