My curiosity comes from here 😅

All the results are analyzed to generate an interpretation of how the phenomenon of interest has evolved over time X. Sorry for the use of variables, but I didn’t know how else to put it. /3

Then, after a period of time X, the same sample B is used to see whether anything in the phenomenon of interest has changed during that time. The same questions are asked, but beforehand each participant is given a summary of their previous responses. /2

I am curious to know your thoughts on using reflexive thematic analysis in longitudinal qualitative research. For example: research is conducted on a phenomenon of interest with sample B using interviews. /1

At least for today, we need to understand three things:
1) Acetaminophen does not cause autism.
2) The State of Israel ≠ Jews ≠ people who live in Israel.
3) Hamas ≠ Palestinians.

We do not need thoughts and prayers, regardless of who the victim is. What we need is gun legislation and we need it NOW.

A great talk by @ginnybraun.bsky.social on GenAI and qualitative analysis. Can GenAI do reflexive TA? The short answer is no - reflexive TA is a human practice. Should we use GenAI as qualitative researchers given all the harms of the tech? If you're remotely concerned with social justice ... no???

Here's a talk I gave as a keynote for the BPS @qmip.bsky.social conference (July 2025) - the result of @vicclarke.bsky.social & I recognising we needed to "dive in" & grapple with the beast that is GenAI & qualitative/(reflexive) thematic analysis

New article out today. A more timely title might have been “How Doctors Become Fascists.”

I’ll have another essay out next week on the minority of doctors who refuse to simply go along with violence and who build underground care systems in response.

Uncharacteristcally long 🧵 (sorry) re: #Qualitative methodologies, science, and 'AI'.

As Qualitative researchers, we should definitely care and remain curious about what 'good work' can look like - but we should be very wary about assuming that a focus on 'rigour' will address this question. 1/13
