there's no restoration of democracy without using every available tool.
Now we’re talking.
👀 "By holding back federal tax revenues, Democratic governors can turn a one-sided assault into a constitutional showdown."

@eric-reinhart.com suggests "creation of state-administered escrow accounts, or “in trust” funds" to temporarily hold fed tax revenues" until fed gov meets const obligations.

BAY AREA: Rumors are flying about ICE targeting Home Depots across the region starting soon. These are RUMORS. But we know it's coming eventually.

So time to organize a group of action buddies and spread flyer about planned meet-ups.👇 QR code for sign-up.

Together we will defend our communities.
Most critically, both cases were not revolutions against bourgeois democracy. Attempting to transplant a model of revolution from one context to another without understanding underlying conditions in each case will lead you astray.
I lived in Cuba and know quite a bit about their revolution. The July 26 Movement was not communist until several years after the revolution, especially after the Bay of Pigs. There were many forces organizing against Batista prior to 1959, including centrist and reformist ones.
You are incorrect on the history of both of those revolutions. The Bolsheviks believed in Marx's theories of the stages of development and kept hoping the Russian bourgeoisie would take over. Only when it became clear that the bourgeoisie was not capable of doing so did they step in.
What masses are you organizing? Or just posting? It sounds like you don’t have any credible theory of change.
lol you're so silly. I am for those things and understand that there is no world where 7 million people march in the streets for the exact same things. Certainly plenty of people were. Insisting on agreement on a full platform before any action is a sure way to keep your movement marginal.
you must not know who i am or what i do. I do have a lot of patience for educating the backwards and confused.

what have you accomplished? who are you organizing?
I have no patience for so-called leftists who criticize organizing for not being radical enough when we have not organized masses of people to that position. I would love to get 7 million in the streets to defund ICE, but we have yet to successfully win people over. That’s our fault, mostly yours.
This is willful ignorance. There were lots of co-sponsoring organizations many of which have clear demands.

And I’m not convinced that the “first step” is to have demands beyond “qué vayan todos.” That’s the united front demand.
Literally no one who is actually involved believes or has argued that a *single* march is supposed to do anything by itself. It may shock you to learn that organizing is a process that involves multiple steps and a variety of actions that only work over time and in concert with each other.
Yes. Involving more people is not part of fighting fascism. You are a very smart scholar of social change. Stopping fascism should be the sole domain of tiny self-congratulatory sects.
My sweet child, it's a united front against fascism. It would never occur to me to look at a website to figure out demands. I was there. There were in fact loads of demands ranging from brunch to full-throated communist revolution and everything in between.
Mayor Lurie spent all year trying to "not give Trump what he wants" & "not attract attention" and not be a target. It didn't work, to the surprise of no one. Will he admit he was wrong & be accountable? When the fascist regime illegally attacks residents of SF, will the Mayor stand up for us?
Yes you were. 100% of people were.
Very serious scholars of nonviolent resistance movements: key tactics to defeat fascism include strikes, building occupations, tax resistance, and boycotts.

2025: Fuck that, it's mostly inflatable costumes.
We need the broadest possible anti fascist movement to win, and to keep building for the future we want that is better than what shitlibs can offer. If they’re not trying to co-opt us, our movement isn’t big enough. #nokings
It was a sweaty united front against fascism in the streets today. Everyone from the KHive to revolutionary communists.

It’s cool as hell to march near the drum line. #nokings
I will not understand people who claim to be on the political left seeing millions of people take to the streets to protest a fascist government and not want to be part of it. You have to be where the people are to have a hope of moving them where you want them to be. #NoKings

"The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic was a litmus test people in the U.S. failed miserably, and we’re all still reeling from it. The results revealed to the ruling powers just how much they could get away with."

YES!!!!!!! you cannot leave your community behind and then be confused when you get lost
COVID-19 has revealed that much of the US public is willing to accept mass death and abandonment. We were pushed by propaganda to see many around us as disposable. That helped set the tone for current fascist violations. I wrote about it for @prismreports.org.

Another way out: Building resistance when passivity is the norm
The COVID-19 pandemic should have shown us that we’re supposed to be meeting needs, not falling in line behind fascist incursions

I wore my “Jews say let Gaza live” shirt at HSB. I assume the huge number of fist bumps and thumbs up I received in response from San Francisco folk music fans are representative of American public opinion as a whole.
