I have been blogging in Finnish, as I attempt to make the leap from high beginner to low intermediate, and it has been strangely liberating to write in a language in which I am incapable of saying anything significant.

Interesting Finnish slang mäyräkoira (Dachsund, literally "badgerdog") also means a "twelve pack of beer."

The cover of the textbook for my Finnish class looks an awful lot like an advertisement for an anti-anxiety drug. Will learning Finnish cure my anxiety? I can hope.
