thank you for sharing your truth

staring wistfully in the direction of everybody at aoir right now
like first of all who's to say we AREN'T curing cancer?? checkmate
i think these can be great introductory works for undergrads btw but i think unless you have a fresh spin on it (which i have seen!) leave it out. if you've made it to graduate study you're way past introductory theory.
being a lifetime sociology student is exhausting if i have to write one more short essay analyzing how my identity influences the way i've experienced the world i'm going to lose it
had the exact same reaction !
happy doctor who and gender summer for all who observe ‼️‼️

ah i love this! sounds like they had a great semester.
obsessed with this! what were some of the points of contention?
agree! i need to read more on it because i know there’s also been some bad faith behavior, but i really think there’s something here.
you’ll never see an empty showing of rocky horror because rocky has rules and outlines about how you do callbacks and interactions and they teach newcomers when they go in. more films SHOULD do this if they want to fill seats. it just has to be understood about when and where and how.
everyone complains how getting people to the theater is so tough these days because the theater going experience isn’t defined enough from a home watch. because this was organic i think it becomes an issue of deviant behavior, especially for film buff types, but it doesn’t have to be?
am i the only one who thinks what’s happening at showings of the minecraft movie is actually really interesting and like…..kind of promising?
i really think the reason bluesky generally isn't funny is that there's this agreement not to say anything that doesn't push the envelope. sometimes you need to take a risk to be interesting. if a joke doesn't catch you off guard a little bit what are you laughing at?
yes exactly! like lots of people i knew in high school said “bowties are cool” and wrote a fic or two but it was a developmental stage for them rather than a life long interest
