No need to imagine. The country incarcerates children as young as 9 years old daily in youth prisons and jails. Those children are routinely sexually and physically assaulted and also emotionally tortured. They are fed terrible food and given barely any education. This country has done this for yrs.

We must also hold ourselves accountable in this. It's personal, or you are not serious. A fascist losing their fascist job has no value. Where is the punishment? It's now or possibly never. Don't invoke Nuremberg and relax. It was too little too late. We have an opportunity here to do better.

it is impossible for mayors or cops to learn positive lessons about protest response because they all have two immovable beliefs:
1. it is evil and childish to hold police officers accountable for violent acts
2. cops must be present at all times during protests

The lesson Frey and Walz were supposed to learn in 2020 was that sending riot police to a peaceful protest creates a confrontation that results in some dipshit cops shooting people in the eye with a gas canister which then we have to goddamn pay for in settlements while also our city burns.
