Reality check.
Under the Big Ugly Bill, Alphabet gets $17.9B in tax breaks. That could pay for SNAP benefits for 7.5 million Americans.

Amazon gets $15.7B. That could lower ACA premiums for 2.4 million people.

Microsoft gets $12.5B. That could cover Medicaid for 3.8 million children.

GOOD!
BREAKING: Grijalva has signed the Epstein Files discharge petition. It doesn't appear that Mace or Boebert have removed their names.

There was always something inexplicably strange about the recent government shutdown. From the beginning, it was crystal clear what Democrats wanted: lower health care costs, affordability and for a lawless president to start obeying the law.

But what about the Republicans?
It Was the Epstein Shutdown All Along

My exact thoughts, too. I’m keeping the door of possibility open that we’ll still see the complete files, not redacted, maybe coming from a source in friendly country other than our own. I’ve heard they’re out there.
I have the sneaking suspicion that once the Epstein files are out they’ll be so redacted and whitewashed of Trump‘s name by his DOJ clowns that it’ll be a disappointment for everyone who’s been waiting for it.

“Hey, no ACA amendment, no yes vote!” All it takes is one of the 8 Dems who voted to pass the bill, to say “I vote NO. . .”, in both of the remaining “full-60-votes-needed-to-pass” Senate votes. Call, email or message any all of those turncoats and TELL them, politely but emphatically, of course.
There’s still time to call senators. Let me explain. Sorry not sorry about the cat. He’s also really upset about this deal.

That’s my question, too.
An agreement to agree to do a later vote is NOT an enforceable contract so what in the actual hell are Americans getting out of this deal??

Tell me again that #Bernie was too old to be elected president in 2016, 2020, 2024

#maddow. AOC for Senate Majority Leader! (Yeah, I know. . . after she runs & wins her future Senate seat, but 5 minutes after that!) 💙💚

Listen Kaine, Hassan, King, Cortez-Masto, Durbin, Shaheen, Rosen, and Fetterman. You're NOT gonna take away my 2025 election joy. We voted in that election for folks to FIGHT for us. That doesn't include YOU.

YOU are what we voted AGAINST last Tuesday. So I'm gonna hang on to that.

Beshear: Let me be clear. The president has both the funding and the authority to fund snap during a shutdown. In fact, every other president in every other shutdown has done so. People going hungry in this instance is a choice that this president has made.

Sure sounds like it. Michael Steele needs to shut his trap.
So, are Lawrence and Steele saying to be kind to politicians who are beholden to big money donors? #maddow #lastword

My question: New owners? Who are they?
@chrislhayes.bsky.social Will MSNOW have NBC's resources? Excuse my skepticism, but legacy media has really been dropping the ball on this administration. The integrity of your anchors is bascially all you've got, Chris. But, we're glad to have you. #maddow #inners

It took Jeffries a long time but at least he finally endorsed Mamdani. Still, not cool. He's been a big letdown. #maddow

Well stated.
💯

To not “speak ill” of a recently deceased person who caused incalculable harm and damage and suffering to so many is to totally make invisible and negate the reality of all those people who suffered so greatly bc of that person.

I wished him zero harm, but #DickCheney was a horrible guy.
November 4, 2025 at 8:47 PM
Let’s get real, here. In the coming years, the only thing people are going to remember about Dick Cheney is that he shot his hunting buddy in the face, neck & upper torso. Also maybe that his nickname was Darth Vader but first, that he shot someone in the face while hunting. #inners #maddow

WORD.
The President wants to use the military to crack down on Americans who are exercising their 1st Amendment rights to oppose him. I can’t think of a better reason to insist on exercising those rights.
