Fibercrafts, books. Still not much to say. Will block on vibes, still deciding about xylophones. Sometimes I take time to respond, because I am trying to be thoughtful. Has read but does not like Moby Dick. Still on Dreamwidth and Mastodon

I resent the airlines, not my fellow trapped humans.
I sent my Phileas to a cousin to sign her divorce papers.

So A) Yikes
B) Good job, Boeing for getting the front glass right
C) YIKES

And an aside: anyone have any idea what the obviously added emoji paperclips in the twitter images are supposed to mean?

Something from “space” may have just struck a United Airlines flight over Utah
“NTSB gathering radar, weather, flight recorder data.”…

Right? I actually think this is a good phrase to know!
Puerto Rico too, if they want it.
High school French gave me:
- Calm yourself, Anne!
And
- Let us go to the pastry shop together!

Block list of US Gov Bluesky accounts. You don’t want them seeing your stuff.

Hi, I'm the ProPublica reporter who's been tracking an unusual stat: U.S. citizens grabbed by immigration agents.

I did it because the government isn’t.

This is what I found.

I’ve lives in blue pockets in red states (in one of the four Appalachian counties that went for Obama in 2008), and in Elyse Stefanik‘s district in Deep Blue NY. This collective assignment of culpability or worthiness is just nonsense in both directions

Take note of all these people turning out for protests in small towns in red states.

Remember them the next time you’re inclined to write an area off because “they voted for this.”

What Nixon and Reagan stole from us by defunding public higher education: in 1957, Jean Childs Young was getting her Master’s at Queens College CUNY for $18/semester.

Minimum wage in 1957 was $1/hour, so you could get a semester’s worth of Master’s degree for less than a half-week of minimum wage.

Reposting for anyone in the book trade who'd care to answer...
Friends: A question for those with writing/publishing experience. If one's ms (a novel) was requested by a publisher after a pitch, is it appropriate to ask about its status after some amount of time or is that not done? If so, is there a ballpark interval that's reasonable for a check-in? Thanks!
