I love to speak Spanish, & lived in Spain. I taught Spanish Language & Culture for 25 yrs. I retired, & I'm enjoying singing in opera companies & audition choruses. I sang at Spanish masses & was a cantor. I have 2 loving Bengal cats, Azteca & Maya.
I bet he's sleeping with that medal around his neck, and, maybe...I'm not going to say what I was thinking.
You just know Trump still has that medal on.

Today, we lost a giant of American architecture with the passing of Frank Gehry, whose iconic designs personified the creativity and dynamism of Los Angeles and California.

May his memory be a blessing, and may his family, friends, and all he inspired take comfort in the lasting legacy of his work.

@velshi.com Dear Ali, I wanted to tell you that my PBS channel in Ft. Myers/Naples will be running "Pride & Prejudice" in the next week or two. I don't know if it will be nationwide. It will probably air on Sundays. It's a nice tie-in if they're showing it all over.

@ms.now Why is MSNOW silent about being sold to a new company, Verdant, which has been created for the "spin-off" companies? This is NEWS! It's like you're trying to hide the truth. Clearly, someone made the call to not mention it at all. I think MSNOW should be straight up, & tell us the truth.

Thanks to Jen, we learned that right b4 the pharma exec passed out, T was asleep in his chair. He was startled awake by the man hitting the floor! That's why he was dazed & confused². (Not that he would have changed his behavior had he been awake!)

This is very important from @gregsargent.bsky.social.

When the people drawing a gerrymander get too greedy, they can put a lot of their own seats in danger in anything like a wave election. And if there is a 2026 wave, it won’t be Republican.
Crucial thing to watch: The Dem blowout wins suggest it'll be way more risky for GOPers to gerrymander, because the GOP safer seats may become more vulnerable than expected. Rs in those seats will now be very nervous.

Exchange on this w/Dem operative Jessica Post:

@lawrenceodonnell.msnbc.com I'm watching your coverage about the pharma exec who passed out during T's meeting. Jen Psaki showed more recording about what T was doing b4 the incident. She showed him sound asleep, then waking up suddenly when the guy hit the deck. Dazed & confused².

Democrats call it accountability; Republicans call it retribution!
Accountability will be the greatest Downfall of Trump’s Republican Party rule.Every single Republican will be Accountable for their actions!
They cannot Lie About Their Actions without Consequences!

ACECO, LLC, currently demolishing the East Wing of the White House while the government is shut down and SNAP food aid and military pay is in jeopardy, had over $2million in Covid PPP loans forgiven.

According to Legal scholars, apparently none. It appears that the president can do whatever he wants to any historical or national monument. There are no laws addressing this, because none were ever thought to be necessary.

I sent a complaint through Maryland Attorney General's office. Even though I'm out of their state, Aceco is in Maryland and their demolishing federal property (i.e. technically every citizen's property) and I'd like to know if this company is even properly licensed/permitted for what they're doing.

I’m an emoluments hard-liner, but even I don’t think this would be an emolument. Long-standing practice is to allow the President to accept foreign gifts on behalf of the US, with the US retaining ownership. Unlike the Qatari jet, this isn’t something he can take with him
October 22, 2025 at 4:34 AM
With donors name carved into the walls. If there are foreign donors, this would be yet another violation of the Emoluments Clause.
October 22, 2025 at 4:33 AM
Reports say it will be paid for with donor funds. Voters need to hold this administration accountable if this is true.
October 22, 2025 at 4:32 AM
I just want to point out that Congress has not appropriated any money for the construction of the ballroom or the demolition of part of the White House. Any taxpayer dollar spent on this is unconstitutional
October 22, 2025 at 4:31 AM
If this is correct, no.
October 22, 2025 at 4:29 AM
Trump controls the NPS, which is part of the executive branch. Lawyers have been sorting through this all day but the consensus seems to be, the president can blow up a national monument if he wants. The only check right now would be Congress impeaching him.
Nope. This is one of those things Congress and/or a future administration has to fix, there's not really any justiciable angle for the courts.

@nicollewallace.bsky.social @raskin.house.gov Is the White House part of the National Park System?
Wait! Isn't this part of the National Park system? Aren't they capable of wielding crazy amounts of power to stop this?
