Born on Korcula, a little island in the Adriatic. Now settled gratefully and respectfully on Cameraygal land on the world's biggest island, Australia.
Aust Museum is my go-to for spider info. In Sydney's Chatswood we do this often. The most exciting was when a redback bit me: not as bad as it sounds. Funnel webs are different. The latest excitement is red-bellied black snakes. Kinda weird so close to our CBD.

Sydney Funnel-web Spider, Atrax robustus
Probably the most notorious of all spiders, Sydney Funnel-webs have a fearsome reputation. Most of this is deserved, but some is exaggerated.

Another pathetic stunt from Hanson but on the upside it's nice not being able to see that cranky, sourpuss face.

Who should compensate investors for shonky investments? Government is floating using your superannuation after soaking good advisers.
Better idea: use the $2 billion in fines and fees watchpuppy ASIC collects.

Financial complaints. Mulino’s compo ploy to tap the goodies, even super, to cover the baddies - Michael West
There is a storm brewing to blow up the Federal Government’s Compensation Scheme of Last Resort. Will they hit super, financial advisers?

Perhaps you are wrong, Nick. No doubt Linda Reynolds spoke out against and took action to stop the Morrison government's very illegal and very cruel Robodebt.

Heartbreaking but to be expected. War and trauma damage people, especially children. As a child during WWII my now 93 year old mum endured bombing, occupation and starvation. The trauma has remained all her life. Nations that enable Israel's genocide are culpable in the crimes and the trauma.

For the first time since the ceasefire started, the ABC has gained access to an area in northern Gaza under Israeli military control. This is what we could see from behind the Yellow Line.

I was the last employee of the NSW BLF. The union's deregistratiaon 50 years was a tragedy - for members and for our community.
October 22, 2025 at 12:25 AM
Sadly, many of the NSW BLF's green ban lessons about heritage, environment and human rights have been forgotten. The mighty $ and short term personal interest reign supreme. How else to explain refusal to take decisive action on the climate crisis?
October 22, 2025 at 12:23 AM
That may be true but Hawke did not support the NSW Builders' Labourers' Federation who imposed Australia's and the world's first green bans. Instead he supported the corrupt Norm Gallagher, BLF National Sec, later gaoled for taking bribes. On green bans Hawke was on the wrong side of history.

The endless flow of wounded children, lack of medical supplies, the feeling of helplessness as bombs fell nearby.

"I held a child with no pulse, only to realize we had no equipment to revive him. This is not war; it's a massacre of innocents."

I'm totally distraught. The injustice. No, Palestinians can't have any weapons, but Israel can have all the weapons, continue to steal from the west Bank, kill, plunder with impunity, threaten & still have control in Gaza. Their inhumanity to medics & journos is beyond outrageous. I just can't...
